Introducing Santa Swap
Inspired by Reddit’s annual Secret Santa event, we figured it was time for the crypto space to have its very own gift exchange event for the holidays…but with a twist.
For those who are unfamiliar: Secret Santa is a tradition in which members of a group or community are randomly assigned a person to whom they anonymously give a gift. The identity of the gift giver remains a secret.
Santa Swap is a platform we’ve developed in which two participants get randomly paired to gift each other an NFT of their choosing. You could receive anything from a Dickbutt to a Cool Cat.
Once both participants have chosen an NFT they wish to gift, they will then deposit their NFT on the Santa Swap site. After they will then be eligible to claim the NFT that their Secret Santa has chosen for them.
Inspired by the art created by pplpleasr earlier this year for cover of Fortune magazine, we teamed up with artists Bisamazen and Pas, and asked them to create an NFT that we feel captures the crypto community and also doubles as a ticket to gain access to the event.
Up to 10,000 NFT tickets will be available with a mint price of 0.03 ETH each. 100% of the proceeds (including OpenSea fees) will be distributed to different charities. Charities will be selected by both the Twitter community and core team (share suggestions in our Discord)
The mint date is currently set for 12/20/21 at 2 pm EST with the event beginning shortly after.
We decided it would be in everyone’s best interest to create a Gnosis Safe Multisig made up of seven people. Three signatures will be required before any donations are distributed. TXID’s of each donation will be posted to our socials once they are sent out.
